We first crossed paths in Sunway, Malaysia. Lushantha was over from Sri Lanka for his graduation, mutual friends pulled us into the same orbit one evening, and somehow neither of us has quite left since.

What followed were four of the hardest, best years of our lives — long distance between two countries, far too many airport goodbyes, and a stubborn determination to squeeze every last drop out of the time we did get together. Through all of it, the only thing that ever felt right was figuring out a way to do life on the same continent.

Then came the proposal. Lushantha pulled off an absolute blinder, with both our families quietly conspiring behind the scenes. She said yes. We threw the party of our lives. And now, with the people we love most, we'd like to do it all over again — this time, for good.
